Triangle Co-operation Between
Jerusalem Water Undertaking (JWU) - Palestine,
Beheira Water and Drainage Company (BWDC) – Egypt
Amsterdam Water Supply (AWS) – The Netherlands
In March 2002 JWU, AWS &BWDC signed a triangle co-operation agreement aiming at improving the drinking water supply to the people of the three parties. On the basis of equality the triangle parties will exchange knowledge and experience between each other. The triangle co-operation came to effect on 1 April 2002 to 31 March 2005.
The scope of the triangle co-operation includes the following fields:
-Institutional aspects of drinking water and wastewater -Management and organisation development -Operations and process technology -Groundwater management -Distribution (Unaccounted for water, flushing network, GIS) -Water quality control and Laboratory Information System -Tariff setting and regulations -Customer affairs -Management Information Systems MIS -Public awareness campaigns
The triangle co-operation will be executed according to an annual work plans. In addition the bilateral work plans for the co-operation between AWS and BWDC, AWS and JWU and JWU and BWADC were drawn up for 2003.
