In agreement with JWU mission, which calls for the provision of reliable services to all consumers at affordable prices, JWU management succeeded in utilizing a portion of the French funds allocated to assist the Palestinian people to improve the deteriorated infrastructure of water supply and sanitation services in the Palestinian territories.
Water Supply Master Plan Project
The objective of this project is to prepare a Master Plan for the water supply and distribution system up to the year 2030. The work on the Plan, carried out by the French-Palestinian consortium SAFEGE & CEP, has been recently completed and is going to provide JWU with a guidance towards future requirements and priority investment projects thereof.
Supply of Ductile Iron Pipes and Fittings for Bir Nabala Conveyance Line
In order to replace the old and undersized lines serving the villages of Bir Nabala, Al-Judira and Rafat with an estimated population of 8,000 inhabitants, JWU through PWA initiated a cooperation project with the French Government. The project included the supply and laying down of 10 km, 6 ductile iron pipe with all necessary fittings and accessories. The new line is in service since July 1999
