Safety

Microsoft Office Design GalleryEmployees are valuable assets. When they are injured, they are not productive. Accidents can damage other assets of an organization as well: equipment, machinery and other facilities. Every organization has a moral obligation to create a safe working environment.

This chapter discusses the key elements of a good safety program, including needs assessment, safety awareness and responses to accidents. The example provides the table of contents from the Jerusalem Water Undertaking Safety Manual. The exercise shows how to identify ways to develop or improve a safety program - including a basic reporting system to track causes of accidents.
