Management by Results

Chapter 13 shows how actions and budget come together in the Annual Plan. Many organizations stop there, assign actions and hope for the best. Others take additional steps to bring their plans to life and keep them in the minds of employees every day. They take a Management by Results (MBR) approach:

• Set specific goals for each employee
• Track actual results
• Compare actual results to goals
• Reward employees who achieve goals

This chapter shows how an MBR approach works and it provides examples from the Jerusalem Water Undertaking experience - showing how the General Manager and the Administration Department set goals.
